What are the major benefits to the Agency?

Where does BOP get all the search content?

  • BOP has uploaded all the media kits for all press and magazine print titles
  • For the trial period we would ask that the Agency keep us updated with changes
  • Once up and running the Agency will need to appoint a dedicated administration person to keep the information up to date and correct.

IS EVERY PUBLISHER USING BOP?

  • All publishers who are members of The Newspaper Works are automatically eligible (but not obligated) to use BOP.
  • Publishers are free to offer any type or volume of inventory as per their requirements. BOP supports various transacting styles, e.g., Contract-based booking, search-based, requests for inventory, requests for quotes, remnant, etc.
  • BOP has been built to provide a valuable, additional commercial channel between newspaper sales teams and media agencies.

IS THERE TRAINING PROVIDED?

  • The system has been built to be very simple and intuitive, and works like any online auction site would be expected to.
  • We have made tutorial videos available on our YouTube channel.
  • On-site training is available on request.

What is the cost to us both monetarily and resources?

  • BOP is costed on a ‘per license’ basis. Licenses can not be transferred between users.
  • Resourcing will be dependant on the number of client groups  who needs to access BOP
  • An administration person will need to be appointed moving forward as the point of contact with ADMIN access to self manage the agency information

How soon is this rolling out?

  • BOP has been through vigorous testing over the past 2 years.
  • DENTSU Aegis is rolling out to their teams as we speak, followed by UM
  • News Ltd teams are being trained
  • Fairfax has just signed up and are in trial

Do you upload and hold rates?

  • You can if you wish, no problem if you don’t
  • BOP can save templates for vast and complicated booking schedules.
  • BOP is totally neutral to negotiations.
  • All content can only be seen by selected people specific to the account selected by the agency.

How do we include readership?

  • BOP is capable of including both Roy Morgan data or IPSOS Emma
  • Which ever you prefer is possible
  • Discussions are under way with both

MY CONTRACT RATES ARE BENCHMARKED SO WHY WOULD I USE THE PLATFORM?

  • Contract-based booking is easier through BOP. The entire process of getting the request through to the publisher, the publisher offering the requesting inventory, and the agency accepting it is one smooth operation. Downstream functions such as uploading transactions into billing systems, and forwarding jobs to creative agencies are also managed by the platform.
  • BOP's auction platform offers a choice that complements rather than supplants contract-based trading.  Contracts offer certainty of both rates and availability. The BOP auction format offers a trade-off between uncertainty of availability with the opportunity for deals that may sometimes be better than contract rates.

WHAT SORT OF INVENTORY IS AVAILABLE – E.G. NEWSPAPER, SECTIONS?

  • All major sections and ad modules are supported: Early General News, Motoring, Business, Sport, Real Estate, Health, and Newspaper Inserted Magazines. Both newspapers and magazines are supported.

CAN PUBLISHERS VIEW EACH OTHER’S RATES?

  • No. Users belonging to a publisher can only see inventory offered by their employer.
  • Agency users can of course see inventory from all publishers.
  • Finer-grained access restrictions within a publisher are possible and can be enforced depending on demand.

WHAT OTHER FEATURES ARE SUPPORTED BY THE PLATFORM?

  • Advanced controls for managing the life cycle of inventory (suspending, editing, repricing, re-listing and cloning)
  • Self-service administrative features
  • Packages/bundles
  • Integration into publisher systems

WHERE DO THE BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS GO, AND WHO INVOICES?

  • Invoice and payment will still take place between the publisher and the agency. BOP serves as a facilitator of the trade and discovery process only.

WHO DOES THE AGENCY PAY FOR A SUCCESSFUL TRADE?

  • The publisher directly.

TECHNICAL

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL OR ALTER MY BOOKING?

  • Amendments and cancellations are managed through the system. Agencies must negotiate with publishers separately on these. Publishers must propose amendments and cancellations since they own the inventory. The agency is intimated of this both onscreen and through email, and must approve the amendment/cancellation for it to be effective.

WHAT REPORTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR TRACKING MY ACTIVITY ON THE PLATFORM?

  • A variety of reports satisfy different user needs. It is possible to run daily, weekly and monthly spend reports by agency, client, product and campaign.
  • A custom report template can be created on request.

IF YOU PURCHASE MULTIPLE INVENTORY ITEMS, DO YOU GET MULTIPLE BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS?

  • Yes. Each successful bid or purchase will generate an individual confirmation email for effective real-time activity tracking. It is recommended that email addresses be set up to forward to as many individuals as may need to receive intimation of site activity. A client report can be generated against a schedule or Purchase Order to consolidate the process.

SECURITY

HOW SECURE IS MY INFORMATION?

  • We employ various security strategies to ensure the protection and confidentiality of all user data. The system has been audited by an independent security agency, and such audits will be performed at regular intervals.

HOW DOES BOP USE MY INFORMATION?

  • BOP will only use data retained by the platform for the purposes of implementing improvements and upgrades. All commercially sensitive information is kept confidential and not shared with any third parties, except where explicitly defined in the terms and conditions agreed to by the publisher.
